MetroTrends week in review

With both major political parties’ national conventions finished this week, the MetroTrends blog featured two issues worthy of national consideration.

  • Marge Turner wrote about why poverty matters, to the nation, to all those it affects, and to the policy researchers who must help maintain a robust and functioning safety net
  • Zach McDade wrote two blogs about the ongoing foreclosure crisis in Prince George’s county: one features a policymaker toolkit designed by NeighborhoodInfoDC; the other features the six banks that are collectively responsible for beginning foreclosure proceedings on nearly 35,000 families in the county

As an organization, the Urban Institute does not take positions on issues. Experts are independent and empowered to share their evidence-based views and recommendations shaped by research.
