This case study is part of the Mapping Prosecutor-Led Diversion Project, a joint project of the National District Attorneys Association and the Urban Institute with funding from the Chan Zuckerberg Initiative. This case study highlights the Young Adult Diversion Program in Pennington County, South Dakota, a diversion program focused on people ages 18 to 25. This case study focuses on the program’s individualized method and the networked approach its leadership and program staff have used to build its capacity and scope, highlighting takeaways for other prosecutors and stakeholders looking to launch similar programs.
