PROJECTTracking COVID-19’s Effects by Race and Ethnicity

The COVID-19 pandemic has inflicted immense harm on Americans’ health and livelihoods, with people of color shouldering an unequal share of the burden. The pandemic has worsened existing health and economic racial inequities. As cases continue to rise and many jobs are still lost or disrupted, an uneven recovery could leave communities of color further behind. To understand the extent of the pandemic’s effects and inform race-conscious policies for an equitable recovery, we are using the federal Household Pulse Survey to provide near-real-time data broken down by geography and race and ethnicity.
