The Urban Institute is excited to announce a new opportunity for up to eight counties to join an upward mobility cohort. Selected counties will receive 18 months of technical assistance and funding to adopt and apply a set of mobility metrics to better understand and advance upward mobility in their communities. Urban seeks applications from counties interested in using a mobility action plan informed by data, cross-sector local leaders, and community voices to apply these metrics in their own efforts to promote upward mobility and racial equity.
During this webinar, speakers will provide an overview of the upward mobility cohort, explain how to apply, and answer questions from potential applicants. Kosar Jahani, program officer at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, will provide introductory remarks. Erika C. Poethig, vice president of the Research to Action Lab and chief innovation officer at the Urban Institute, will introduce the opportunity for counties to partner with Urban and discuss the critical role local governments play in promoting upward mobility. Justin Milner, associate vice president of the Research to Action Lab at the Urban Institute, will explain the request for information (RFI) application, timeline, and selection criteria.
