In an interim report, the Long-Term Care Financing Collaborative (LTCFC) describes key principles for designing a sustainable and affordable system of long-term care. That system recognizes the crucial roles played by families and communities in delivering this personal assistance. Among the key policy recommendations: Better integrating supports and services with medical care, greater support for family caregivers and paid front-line care workers, and leveraging community institutions as portals to care.
