Perspectives on Housing Finance Reform

November 6, 2017

Alanna McCargo, co director of the Housing Finance Policy Center, testified before the US House Subcommittee on Housing and Insurance as part of the hearing series on “Sustainable Housing Finance.” McCargo identifies current interrelated problems in the housing finance system, including the wealth gap, insufficient affordable housing, and insufficient access to mortgage markets. She makes suggestions for comprehensive reforms to the housing finance system, noting that the country needs one solid, interconnected housing finance system that serves all people and protects taxpayers.
