The Kiowa Tribe’s Child Care Program developed and implemented a strategy to reclaim the Tribe’s language and culture. In spring 2026, Urban Institute researchers conducted a case study as part of the Understanding Supply-Building and Sustainability Efforts of the Child Care and Early Education (CCEE) Market study to learn more about the Kiowa Tribe’s strategy and how families, educators, and leaders of the Tribe thought it was working. This fact sheet summarizes the strategy’s goals and elements, as well as the early successes tribal members reported.
