Housing Finance at a Glance is a monthly reference guide for mortgage and housing market data. It includes over 80 curated and updated figures describing current trends in the US housing finance market, including housing affordability, credit availability, serious delinquency rates, and mortgage insurance activity.

These trends stood out most to housing finance policy researchers from this chartbook edition:

• The GSE share of securitized first-liens has declined since 2022 (Page 8).  Mortgage rates remain elevated since beginning to rise in 2022 (Page 9).
• The private mortgage insurer market share of mortgage insurance volume has declined since 2022 (Page 37).
• FHA loans are a more financially attractive option than the GSEs for most borrowers (Page 38).

This month the chartbook includes a quarterly special feature of loan-level GSE data including loan composition, default rates, repurchase rates, and loss severity by origination years.
