Employer engagement is an important strategy for workforce development programs. Federal grant programs and philanthropic initiatives have increasingly pushed workforce organizations to be more responsive to the industries that might hire program graduates. This brief provides a framework for understanding the goals and challenges of employer engagement in workforce development programs as well as strategies for engagement and deeper partnership.
