In this brief, we raise awareness of how education policies may relate to neighborhood change in urban districts by examining the relationship between school choice and gentrification. We review the existing literature, hypothesize unexplored links between school choice and neighborhood change, and present ideas and themes from a 2014 Urban Institute convening of education and community policy experts.
