PROJECTPublic Sector Systems Strengthening in Tanzania

Public Sector Systems Strengthening (PS3)  is  a five year USAID funded project in Tanzania. The overall objective of PS3 is to strengthen the government systems at both national and local levels to improve the access,  use and quality of service delivery across health, education and agriculture sectors, with a focus on the underserved populations. PS3 operates under five components: governance and citizens’ engagement, human resources, financial management, information systems and operations research.

The Urban Institute partners with the main contractor Abt Associates to implement PS3 along with the Benjamin Mkapa Foundation (BMAF), Broad Branch Associates, Intra-Health, the Local Government Training Institute (LGTI), Tanzania Mentors Association (TMA) and the University of Dar Es Salaam (UDSM).
