An overwhelming Senate majority voted to pass the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act, which aims to make homes more affordable at a time when homeownership is increasingly out of reach for many. In an interview with The Christian Science Monitor, Aniket Mehrotra, a housing finance policy expert at the Urban Institute, said the bill “reflects how housing affordability is impacting everybody, every state and locality, suburban and urban. The solutions to meet the challenges need a big comprehensive bill that tackles the issue at the core.”
