Body
State and local government leaders are on the front lines of the battle against COVID-19. While fighting the public health emergency, they must determine how to plan for massive revenue reductions caused by job and income losses and decreased consumer spending. Absent substantial increases in federal relief, states and localities will be forced to raise taxes or cut programs that serve citizens and help rebuild communities.
This event will focus on innovative ways state leaders are tackling these challenges. Speakers will highlight the effects of strategies undertaken in the last recession and examine strategies being considered across the country today.
