Zackaria Ali

Zackaria Ali is a research assistant in the Center on Labor, Human Services, and Population, where he conducts qualitative and quantitative research and provides administrative support to the child welfare team.

Prior to joining the Urban Institute, Ali worked at the National Prison Rape Elimination Act Resource Center, where he assisted with efforts to educate professionals on sexual safety in confinement. In college, he mentored young people in the South Los Angeles community and helped conduct research on rent burden and food insecurity. He attended the University of Southern California, where he earned bachelor’s degrees in public policy and Spanish, graduating Phi Beta Kappa and magna cum laude.
