Sam Bachman is a research assistant in the Justice and Safety Division at the Urban Institute. His research focuses on victimization and efforts to reduce the harm caused by crime to survivors and communities. Before joining Urban, Bachman worked with Mathematica, conducting observational research on food, nutrition, and activity structure in child care settings. Bachman graduated with a BA in sociology with university distinction from the University of Virginia. He also took classes through the University of Michigan Summer Institute for Survey Research Techniques.
