Poonam Gupta is a research associate in the Tax and Income Supports​ Division at the Urban Institute, where she focuses on research related to food security, food access, adequacy of the social safety net, and issues affecting undocumented immigrants.

Gupta hold BAs in public health and Spanish from Johns Hopkins University and an MSPH in international health from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.

Gupta is also part of the inaugural William and Gail Gorham Scholar/Analyst Program and a Gorham Scholar/Analyst, class of 2024.
