Nikhita Airi is a research associate at the Urban-Brookings Tax Policy Center, and contributor to Urban’s Safe Data Technologies project and State and Local Finance Initiative. She is experienced in microsimulation modeling, and her research interests include fiscal federalism, tax and budget issues affecting low-income families, and direct cash assistance. Airi has published peer-reviewed articlesin the National Tax Journal and ANNALS of the American Academy of Political and Social Science. She holds a BA in economics from Reed College.
