Mattie Mackenzie-Liu is a research associate in the Family and Financial Well-Being Division at the Urban Institute, where she does work on child welfare and child policy. She is a quantitative social scientist whose research focuses on how public policies affect the well-being of low-income children and their families. Mackenzie-Liu’s work has been published in the Journal of Policy Analysis and Management, Social Service Review, and other publications. Before joining Urban, she worked as an early childhood educator in southern Indiana. Mackenzie-Liu received her MPA from Indiana University and a PhD in public administration from Syracuse University.
