Maggi Chambers is a policy program associate at WorkRise, a research-to-action initiative hosted by the Urban Institute. Her work supports various engagements, events, and communication efforts to ensure findings and evidence generated by WorkRise effectively inform policies and programs aimed at enhancing economic security and promoting upward mobility for low-wage workers.

Before joining Urban, Chambers was the workforce development and education program lead at the Business Council for International Understanding. She spearheaded collaborative efforts to cultivate partnerships and facilitate dialogue among key stakeholders across the training, education, and professional development industry, spanning both the public and private sectors. She holds a bachelor’s degree in international business from Howard University.
