As the Urban Institute’s senior director of employee relations and counsel, Kate Attridge is responsible for developing employee relations strategies that support a positive work environment and effective conflict resolution, working with Urban’s employee union to advance an inclusive and effective workplace, and serving as legal counsel for the organization.
Before joining Urban, Kate spent over 10 years at the United States Postal Service, most recently as its vice president of labor relations. She designed and implemented labor relations strategies and programs for an organization of over 600,000 employees, oversaw the US Postal Service’s Equal Employment Opportunity Program, and served as the chief negotiator of the US Postal Service’s collective bargaining agreements. She previously served as the US Postal Service’s manager of collective bargaining and arbitration and its chief counsel for labor law.
Kate holds a bachelor’s degree in print journalism from American University and a juris doctor from Georgetown University Law Center.
