Julia Long is a research analyst in the Health Policy Center at the Urban Institute, where her research focuses on access to health care for low-income children and families. She uses quantitative data analysis to track health reforms and their impacts on the health of children and their families, leveraging national survey data. In addition, she takes part in qualitative data collection relating to perinatal health and Medicaid.

Previously, Long conducted research on rural health disparities and rural health workforce issues at the Cecil G. Sheps Center for Health Services Research. She earned a BS in public health in health policy and management from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
