Josh Fording is a research analyst in the Justice and Safety Division at the Urban Institute. He works on various research and technical assistance projects primarily related to victimization, violence prevention, and Latinx cultural heritage.

Before joining Urban, Fording interned with Greater Birmingham Ministries, a nonprofit and advocacy organization in Birmingham, Alabama, where he assisted Alabamians with felony convictions in restoring their voting rights. He has also tutored incarcerated men and women in the South Bay House of Correction in Boston.

Fording holds a BA in political science from Boston College, where he was a member of the Gabelli Presidential Scholars Program.
