Joseph Barry is a development coordinator for foundations and corporate partnerships at the Urban Institute, with a focus on upholding Urban’s strategic priorities and relationships with institutional stakeholders.

Before joining Urban, Barry worked as donor services assistant for the nonprofit faith and social justice publication Sojourners and provided capacity building services for youth education through Jesuit Volunteer Corps Northwest and AmeriCorps. 

Barry holds a bachelor’s degree in political science and philosophy from the University of Scranton. Outside Urban, he continues to write freelance on the intersections of religion, technology, culture, and public life.
