Jackson Overton-Clark is a policy assistant in the Justice and Safety Division at Urban Institute. His work supports technical assistance around community violence intervention, alternatives to incarceration, decreasing youth involvement with the criminal legal system, and breaking the link between housing instability and jails.
Before joining Urban, Overton-Clark worked at the University of Chicago Consortium on School Research, where he worked on various qualitative projects with Chicago Public School data. In addition to conducting and analyzing data from interviews and student feedback surveys, he co-led the development of a curriculum on building alternatives to surveillance and punishments in schools. He is committed to elevating the voices of justice-involved youth and seeking community-based solutions.
Overton-Clark holds a BA in public policy studies with a minor in critical race and ethnic studies from the University of Chicago.
