Diane Ives is a nonresident fellow in the Center on Nonprofits and Philanthropy and the Research to Action Lab at the Urban Institute. She is a philanthropic and social change innovator dedicated to developing a just society and an environmentally sustainable economy. Ives’s areas of expertise include knowledge and experience in environmental issues (e.g., climate justice, climate change, urban sustainability, and conservation) and economic democracy (e.g., community wealth building, cooperative development, employee ownership, and shared wealth strategies). Ives has worked as a fund adviser to the Kendeda Fund and Tides Foundation and as executive director of the Beldon Fund. She has consulted with the Department of Energy’s Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations, the Flora Family Foundation, and the Far Star Action Fund. Ives serves on the boards of the V.Kann Rasmussen Foundation and the Enlyst Fund. She was a 2023 Executive Fellow at Rutgers University’s Institute for the Study of Employee Ownership and Profit Sharing.
