Urban’s research has the rigor and substance needed to cut through the noise and demonstrate that smart policy can take on seemingly intractable issues. That inspires me, and I’m grateful to contribute to such meaningful work.


Devon Genua is a research assistant with the Center on Labor, Human Services, and Population at the Urban Institute, where she supports research on how economic inequality and demographic trends affect individuals and families. Her past research experience includes qualitative and quantitative work studying criminal justice reentry, the social safety net, and childhood food insecurity. Genua graduated with honors and highest distinction from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
