I am passionate about journalism and research, so being a media relations manager at the Urban Institute affords me the opportunity to bring people in these important fields together.
Daniel Fowler is a director of media relations in the Urban Institute’s Metropolitan Housing and Communities Policy Center. He raises awareness about the center’s research, connects journalists with researchers, and prepares researchers for interviews. Fowler joined Urban after six and a half years at the American Sociological Association, where he was the media relations manager. Before transitioning into media relations, Fowler was an award-winning reporter who spent more than six years writing for publications including Congressional Quarterly and the Washington Examiner in Washington, DC, as well as the Herald News in Fall River, Massachusetts. Fowler earned a bachelor’s degree from Tufts University, where he majored in sociology, minored in American politics, and was editor in chief of the Tufts Daily.
