Crystal Tsao is a research assistant in the Justice and Safety Division at the Urban Institute. She works on various research projects related to intimate partner violence, hate crime victimization, and violence prevention. 

Before joining Urban, Tsao interned at the US Department of Justice’s Child Exploitation and Obscenity Section and the Los Angeles Superior Court. She volunteers with Reproductive Justice for All, advocating for gender equity and reproductive justice. 

Tsao holds a BA in political science from University of California, San Diego.
