Catherine Kuhns
Senior Research Associate
Center on Labor, Human Services, and Population

Catherine Kuhns is a senior research associate in the Center on Labor, Human Services, and Population at the Urban Institute. Her research focuses on child welfare and public programs that support the well-being of low-income children and families. Before joining Urban in 2019, Kuhns was awarded the Doris Duke Fellowship for the Promotion of Child Well-Being to support her research on low-income children and their mothers in Early Head Start programs across the country. During her doctoral studies, she also completed a certificate in population studies from the Maryland Population Research Center. Kuhns has a PhD in human development and quantitative methodology from the University of Maryland, College Park.
