Archana Pyati manages communications and external outreach for the Urban Institute’s From Safety Net to Solid Ground initiative, which examines changes to federal and state social safety net policy and potential impacts on families. Previously, she held positions at the Urban Land Institute and Suited for Change. She also has extensive experience as a freelance writer and journalist, working in both daily newspapers and magazines. Pyati earned her bachelor’s degree summa cum laude in English from the Ohio State University and her master’s degree in journalism from the University of California, Berkeley.
