Community public safety investment
Reducing the number of people under correctional supervision without jeopardizing public safety could contain the skyrocketing costs of mass incarceration and tackle barriers to racial equity and upward mobility. Urban documents strategies to appropriately expand community-driven supports, such as job search programs, that can help reduce people’s involvement in the criminal justice system. We also provide data and analysis to jurisdictions interested in this model.
