Christy Visher, a principal research associate in the Urban Institute's Justice Policy Center, comments on a recent evaluation of an evidence-based prisoner reentry program, Project Greenlight in New York State. Although the program was carefully designed, a rigorous evaluation found that the program did not reduce recidivism among prisoner participants. Visher offers some thoughts on the implementation of future reentry programs and their evaluation.
