Abstract
Urban Institute researcher, Sheila Zedlewski, testifies before the House Committee on Agriculture, Subcommittee on Department Operations on the decline in Food Stamp Program participation. Her testimony focuses on families with children who left food stamps between 1995 and 1997 a period early in the process of welfare reform. She also addresses the relationship between leaving cash assistance and remaining in or dropping out of the food stamp program.
