In 2021, Microsoft and the Urban Institute selected nine local organizations to participate in the pilot of the Catalyst Grant Program. Over six months, the organizations used data and technology to inform and improve policies and practices to advance racial equity and reform in the criminal legal system. Their approaches and achievements can provide models, lessons, and inspiration for communities, local governments, funders, and data and technology experts across the United States. Read about lessons from grantees' experiences in the Catalyst Grant Program Insights collection.
