On October 19, ten representatives from civil rights and community advisor organizations participated in a briefing with Housing Finance Policy Center staff on the goals and priorities of the Mortgage Servicing Collaborative. We discussed the work to date conducted through MSC work stream 1, which is focused on defining and identifying areas of the FHA conveyance and foreclosure process that have opportunities for improvements. We also discussed work stream 2 activity, which is focused on defining a consistent, flexible and simple loss mitigation structure that works across government mortgages. Among participants, there was general agreement to offer recommendations to FHA that are more uniform across agencies, improve the process overall, and address blight in communities.
