The data working group met to discuss options for data collection and developing evidence for the FHA work stream research. 10 participants identified what data is needed to conduct an initial analysis of FHA timelines and costs, as well as liquidations through conveyance and non-conveyance processes. The data collected will support the initial phase of research work to analyze the challenges and overall costs of servicing Federal Housing Administration (FHA) loans, and ultimately explore recommendations on improvements to FHA and other government loss mitigation programs. The group has developed a data template that will be used to collect data from Collaborative members.
Next steps: Collect data from various Collaborative members with the data template and produce initial draft of findings in the Fall of 2017.
