As a way to keep MSC members informed, the Housing Finance Policy Center hosts a regular briefing on the fourth Thursday of each month at 2pm ET. Seventeen MSC members joined the April 26 briefing on MSC activities. Members were made aware that HFPC staff invited Georgetown professor Adam Levitin to join the MSC representing the perspective of consumer advocates. Previously, Adam served on the MSC's Consumer Advisory Committee. On April 10, the first meeting for work stream 4 took place and members heard a presentation from a MSC member on the work group that the MBA created on servicing alignment. Based on the initial meeting and feedback by MSC members, HFPC will not focus on uniform servicing standards. The work stream will focus on identifying 3 to 5 areas of misalignment or friction in policy across federal agencies and diagnose and provide solutions or recommendations for these issues. On April 18, we had a call with the Servicing 101 Script subcommittee where we reviewed the current draft and decided that 5 of the 7 chapters we will proceed with finalizing, and will hold off on finalizing the remaining two chapters until other MSC work has progressed through the work streams. We also released a Government Loans Modification one-page fact sheet that is available on the MSC's landing page for download and dissemination.
