Occupational Purpose and Context
Early childhood educators establish a healthy learning environment for children from birth through age five in the school and classroom. They plan and implement developmentally appropriate learning activities and document and assess children’s learning and progress. Early childhood educators develop and maintain relationships with families and communities and incorporate activities that take into consideration students’ cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. They are advocates for an inclusive profession and engage in continuous learning and reflective practice.
