I truly believe that people are the backbone of any and every business. And to make a business successful, you have to support the people who do the work. This is one of the main reasons I am passionate about HR and ultimately why I chose this career path. Joining the Urban Institute means that my work directly supports a team of people who research findings that influence policy and inform those empowered to make change in our world.
As an HRIS specialist, Mona Megahed provides support for operational activities and projects within the Office of Human Resources. Megahed contributes to the team by exploring ways to automate and improve the Workday user experience. In her previous professional experiences, she served as a strategic partner in HR systems and Total Rewards programs and spearheaded efforts to improve HR internal processes and systems for both nonprofits and the private sector. Megahed specializes in serving as an HR system superuser, developing processes that streamline and enhance workflow.
Megahed’s educational background in both business management and human resource management allows her to contribute to teams that support missions in the arts, conservation, animal and human rights, and space exploration. She continues to serve as an HR consultant for two previous employers, providing support with Total Rewards programs, affirmative action programs, and Department of Labor audits.
