Jill Carter is a research assistant in the Center on Nonprofits and Philanthropy at the Urban Institute, where she supports research, writing, and analysis on equitable and effective philanthropy.
Before joining Urban, Carter was a program officer at the Global Knowledge Initiative, where she conducted systems research and evaluation for funders of projects related to international development. She also helped develop trainings and policies to support social entrepreneurship.
Carter graduated summa cum laude from George Mason University, where she earned a BA in government and international politics with a minor in Middle East studies and Arabic.
