
Jermaine House is the director of communications for safety and justice issues at the Urban Institute, working closely with Urban’s Justice Policy Center. Before joining Urban, House led the marketing and communications department at HIT Strategies, a prominent public opinion data research company based in Washington, DC. His leadership and expertise were instrumental in elevating the company's national profile. Before his role at HIT Strategies, House worked with notable political figures and organizations, including several members of Congress and the DC Council, the Smithsonian’s National Museum of African American History and Culture, Obama for America, and the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, where he led communications for competitive congressional races across a region encompassing Delaware, Florida, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Virginia.
House’s communications work on policy and American politics have been prominently featured in the Washington Post, Politico, the Wall Street Journal, The Hill, USA Today, and the New York Times. House is a graduate of Morehouse College.
