Urban has provided me with many great opportunities that have led me to a fulfilling career. I find it very rewarding to be able to make a difference in someone’s life, both personally and professionally, and I'm proud to be part of the process that attracts and acquires great talent.


Jeremiah Allen joined the Urban Institute in 2004 as part of the mailroom staff. In 2013 he transitioned to a role supporting three of the organization’s business units: accounting, human resources, and communications, where he discovered his passion for interacting with people from various backgrounds and professions.

Allen now supports Urban as a human resources assistant, where he is responsible for engaging staffing agencies to acquire temporary and temp-to-hire help. He also handles consultant agreements, supports budgeting and performs other human resource–related duties.

Allen sits on Urban’s diversity and inclusion steering committee and is the chairman of the recreation committee.
