Alex Stanczyk is a research associate in the Center on Labor, Human Services, and Population at the Urban Institute. Her research focuses on women and families’ economic security; low-wage work and work-family policy; safety net programs; and child welfare policy and practice. Her work draws on both quantitative and qualitative methods to assess impacts and implementation of public policies and programs.
Before joining Urban, Stanczyk was a postdoctoral scholar at the University of California, Berkeley, School of Social Welfare. She holds a BA in political science from Vassar College and received her AM (MSW equivalent) and PhD from the University of Chicago School of Social Service Administration.
