Chief of Staff

Adrea Turner is chief of staff at the Urban Institute, where she works closely with the president and leadership team to design and execute strategic priorities and manage special projects.

Before joining Urban, Turner held senior roles in nonprofit organizations and state and local government, including two chief of staff roles in transportation departments in Baltimore and Washington, DC. She has led strategic initiatives and policy engagement across multiple policy areas, including transportation and mobility, education, and workforce development.

Turner is committed to using public policy and evidence to advance economic opportunity and to build more equitable and inclusive communities and organizations. She has been recognized by the Daily Record as an VIP (Very Important Professional) and a Leading Woman under 40.

Turner holds a bachelor’s degree in psychology and a master’s degree in public administration from the College of Charleston.
