This piece explains how corporate wellness industry advocates have pressured the Obama Administration and the EEOC to allow employers to force their workers to disclose sensitive personal information under the guise of "voluntary" wellness programs. Specifically at risk are protections against coercion in the Americans with Disability Act (ADA). New rules that would weaken these protections, the authors argue, would give employers license to invade workers' privacy and would facilitate discrimination in both jobs and health insurance.
