This report, the latest in an annual series, is based on fundraising data collected from over 8,000 organizations that have contributed data on contributions. In 2013-2014, gains of $3.611 billion in contributions were offset by losses of $3.438 billion through reduced gifts and lapsed donors. The report is a product of the Fundraising Effectiveness Project, which was established in 2006 by the Center on Nonprofits and Philanthropy at the Urban Institute and the Association of Fundraising Professionals to help nonprofit organizations increase their fundraising effectiveness.
