ConclusionThese initial findings from the Urban Institute evaluation of public-private partnerships for parks development and this framework for assessing partnerships are offered in hopes that they will be helpful for others interested in parks partnerships and for those interested in successful public-private partnerships in any field. We offer these observations as a stimulus for action and for further diagnosis and discussion, and we welcome comments or feedback from all.
AcknowledgmentsThe authors of this reportChris Walker with Robin Redford and Carol Steinbachacknowledge the time and effort contributed to the research by staff of local parks agencies, nonprofit organizations, and the Trust for Public Land. We also acknowledge the insightful comments of Adam Stoll and other staff of the Lila Wallace-Reader's Digest Fund.
