Obtaining meaningful information about charitable organizations is easier with a classification system that groups similar entities by purpose, type or major function. The new National Taxonomy of Exempt Entities—Core Codes (NTEE-CC), with its ease of use and consistent hierarchical logic, was created to meet this challenge. This manual, with its expanded definitions, multiple reference guides, and extensive index is a major step in clarifying the NTEE system and ensuring its uniform use by classifiers.
