Alshadye Yemane works mainly on issues relating to the Medicaid and SCHIP programs. As a researcher for the Urban Institute, she created microsimulation models that mimic state Medicaid and SCHIP eligibility determinations for children and adults over multiple years and studied issues relating to public insurance eligibility. She has also participated in studies that examine the effects of Medicaid managed care (MMC) programs on beneficiaries’ health care access and utilization and the factors that contribute to commercial plan exits from MMC.

Ms. Yemane has also worked as an analyst for the Congressional Budget Office where she provided technical expertise to quantitative projects using complex data sources. She obtained a Master of Public Policy degree from Georgetown University in 2005 where she concentrated in Health Policy.
