Baoping Shang ![]() Baoping Shang, Ph.D., is a Research Associate in the Health Policy Center of The Urban Institute. His research has mainly focused on the relationships between health, health insurance coverage, medical technologies, and health care utilization and spending in the elderly population, including the effects of population aging on health care spending and the effects of prescription drug coverage on Medicare Part A and Part B spending. He has also studied issues related to benefit design and health care utilization. In addition, he is interested in the health insurance market, health care safety net and the interaction between private and public insurance. Dr. Shang was a NBER postdoctoral fellow in health economics before he joined the Urban Institute in 2008. |
